And why do you worry about clothes?
Observe how the wildflowers of the field grow: They don’t labour or spin thread.
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was adorned like one of these.
If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t he do much more for you ”
Clothed in Splendour
Is inspired by Matthew 6:27–30, where Christ points to the flowers of the field as an example of trust in God’s care. The painting transforms this idea into a vivid, overflowing landscape of invented plants, curling forms and brilliant colour. Rather than depicting the passage literally, the work reflects its sense of abundance: life grows, changes and flourishes without anxiety. The rich colour and organic forms suggest a world already clothed in beauty, inviting the viewer to consider trust, providence and the splendour found in creation.
