Beginning in 2013, Hyde developed a distinctive visual language of flowing lines and interconnected forms that reflected themes of connection, perception and transformation. These early abstract works explored the hidden structures that unite the natural and spiritual worlds, drawing inspiration from Christian faith, dreams and the rhythms found throughout creation.


Over time, his practice expanded to include still life, portraiture and figurative painting. During 2020, Hyde undertook a series of observational still lifes, strengthening his understanding of colour, composition and form. These studies informed a renewed interest in sacred art, culminating in paintings such as Saint Michael, Saint Elizabeth and Joan of Arc, where traditional Christian narratives are interpreted through a contemporary yet contemplative vision.

Alongside these figurative works, Hyde has continued to develop abstract series including The Hunger Inside and Constellations. His paintings invite viewers to reflect on themes of faith, memory, identity and the interconnectedness of all creation, balancing intuition with careful structure and symbolism.

Since 2013, Hyde’s work has been exhibited in Western Australia and continues to evolve through both abstract and figurative painting. His practice remains grounded in the belief that art is an act of discovery, revealing relationships between the visible and invisible worlds and encouraging contemplation of the divine within everyday experience.
